Chrondle is a daily ear test for tempo: each round hides one beat that runs slightly fast or slow, and the odd beat creeps closer to the pack as you go. How fine a difference can you still catch?

What Chrondle trains
Chrondle works your tempo discrimination: your ear's ability to flag the one beat in a run that does not belong. Each round plays several beats where all but one share a tempo, and you find the odd one out. Across ten rounds the odd tempo creeps ever closer to the rest, pushing you toward your personal detection limit, the smallest deviation you can still catch. It is the same vigilance that tells you, mid-song, that someone just rushed or dragged.
How to play
Press play to hear the beats in a round, then tap the one that sits off-tempo. Replay as often as you need before you commit. There are ten rounds and the gap shrinks as you go, so the early rounds are easy and the later ones test the fine edge of your timing. Play by ear with sound on, or watch the on-screen pulse. How scoring works
Your result reflects how far into the shrinking sequence you kept answering correctly, in effect the smallest tempo gap you still detected. Because each round narrows the difference, reaching round eight or nine means a finer threshold than stopping at round four. A single slip late in the run costs little; consistently catching small deviations is what moves the number.

Common mistakes
Answering before replaying throws away information, since later rounds reward a careful second listen. Fixing on the first beat of the run makes you judge its attack rather than its tempo. Guessing under time pressure you have imposed on yourself widens errors; Chrondle is not a speed test. And device latency plus fatigue both blur the fine gaps, so a tired score is not your true one.

Browser and device timing are not laboratory-grade, so absolute gaps should be read cautiously and results from different devices are not strictly comparable. One session does not establish your "true" threshold, and a score reflects tempo discrimination specifically, not rhythm or musicianship overall.
